Sophie Honess is a Gamilaroi Yinarr based in Tamworth, NSW. She has been creating textile art professionally since 2017. Sophie's work responds to her immediate environment, finding and exploring hidden beauty on Gomeroi country through colour and texture.

Sophie has been included in a number of group exhibitions and has held 2 solo exhibtions at Weswal Gallery, Tamworth, in 2021 and 2023.

A selected artist in Tamworth Textile Triennial in 2023, and a selected artist in the CountyRoad and NGV First Nations Commissions 'My Country' exhibition 2024.

Sophie is also a part of Yinarr Maramali, a gomeroi weaving collective.
